With the storm of new technologies and innovation, being a part of AITP was a great way to gain insight from people apart of successful technology companies. I attended workshops and competed in the National Collegiate Conference for Database and Visual Basic
I met company deadlines by crafting two blog posts each week. My primary focus was writing on ways to successfully start a career and personal development, along with assigned writing such as resources to take advantage of on campus. My posts led to contract work based on my ability to adhere to a tone compliant to my audience.

My time job shadowing at this creative agency introduced me to web development and the most eye-opening experience of my life. I changed my area of study the semester after working with Matt at Ilfusion. Working with code to create something innovative was something I knew I was meant to do.

I was apart of the Phi Beta Chi sorority for a year volunteering my time to participate in local and organizational events. I organized and drafted documents as communications and scholarship chair. I was appreciated for my effective communication among the group to get necessary documents and tasks completed.

Working at an animal hospital is not exactly in my realm of expertise, but being a part of growing start up was inspiring. I observed my boss do what it takes to obtain customer loyalty and consistent client growth. My duties of organizing files, filling prescriptions, and handling the needs of clients developed my skill of listening effectively and detail-orientation.

Cobol Development Intern
Who uses COBOL anymore? I know this is what we are all thinking, but company's that withhold millions of records need a language that ensures data integrity. I interned for ESC20 (Education Services in Texas) where I assisted in multiple types of tasks to help provide school administrative software to Texas school districts. Although the syntax of the language may not be applicable to many company's, my ability to debug, ensure data integrity, compose transparent documentation, and successful implementation of code will be useful for any organization.
